High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure causes so many problems including heart attacks, which of course is major cause of death. So if you think you are suffering from high blood pressure, then you should do something about it as soon as you can. The first thing you should do is contact your doctor who will give you a full check up and measure your blood pressure accurately. They will take a series of three readings to confirm if you suffer from hypertension

The reason heart attacks occur is because when you have high blood pressure it means your heart is working harder to pump blood around your body. Arteries and veins become blocked with cholesterol and fatty deposits and hinder the blood from getting through. This means the heart has to work harder and this is what causes heart attacks.

There aren’t really exact numbers that state when your blood pressure is high but anything over 140/90 is considered to be too high. When your blood pressure reaches this level then you should try to do something about it as soon as you can. This will include eating healthier meals and introducing exercise into your daily routine. Yes, these will be major changes but they are so important in preventing heart attacks or strokes.

Other problems that can be caused by high blood pressure include headaches, feeling dizzy and problems with your breathing. If you start to suffer from any of these then go and get checked out as soon as you can. Your doctor will be able to tell you exactly what may be causing the problems and also give you his opinion on what can be done to cure the problem. In most cases this will involve you reducing your high blood pressure as quickly as you can but still remaining as healthy as possible.
